micromodal bed linen

Machine launder in hot water, on a normal cycle – we recommend no higher than 50 degrees and a 800 rpm spin.   Use a mild non-bio eco-friendly detergent without added bleach, whiteners, brighteners or softeners.  Do not rinse in liquid fabric softener, this only serves to coat the fibres.

We encourage all our clients to air dry their sheets, not only will it save on energy, but the sun is a natural whitener.  If you have cream or coloured linens we recommend not to dry your sheets in the sun.  If machine drying is necessary, tumble dry on the lowest setting and remove sheets whilst damp to prevent overheating and drying out.

 If desired press sheets whilst slightly damp on the reverse side of the fabric using a steam iron on the warm or silk setting.

Keep spare sheets in a cool, dry closet or drawer.  Provide lining on the surface where linen is placed, to help keep the sheets from yellowing, this can occur through transfer of colour from shelves.

Please be aware that some facial creams and body lotions contain ingredients which may cause discolouration.

RePlastic bedding

Our bedding can either be dry cleaned or machine or hand washed in warm water, not hot water, on a gentle cycle.  We recommend no higher than 40 degrees a 400 - 600 rpm spin.  Use a mild non-bio eco-friendly detergent without added bleach, whiteners, brighteners or softeners. Do not rinse in liquid fabric softener, this only serves to coat the fibres.

We encourage all our clients to air dry their bedding, not only will it save on energy but the sun is a natural whitener. If machine drying is necessary, tumble dry on the lowest setting and remove duvets and shake a few times during the cycle. Alternatively, if lumps do appear in the pillow we suggest placing a tennis ball wrapped in a sock in the dryer to beat the lumps out of the pillows as they dry. It may take more than one drying cycle to completely dry the pillow. Most pillows lose their lumps at this point.

ReWool & ReCashemere blankets

Our ReWool and ReCashmere blankets are dry clean only.  Our blankets should be professionally dry cleaned with any solvent except for Trichloroethylene.  To remove any creases our ReWool can be steamed, run the steamer over the blanket without rubbing the wool too much.  Sateen trims can be ironed on the lowest heat.

organic cotton & linen tablelinen

Machine launder in warm water, not hot water and on a gentle cycle - our partner recommends no higher than 40 degrees.   Use a mild non-bio eco-friendly detergent without added bleach, whiteners, brighteners or softeners.  Do not rinse in liquid fabric softener, this only serves to coat the fibres.

We encourage all our clients to air dry their linens and iron on a low heat whilst damp or with steam.  For any strong stains use a pre-stain treatment before washing, you can also use salt or white vinegar.  Never use bleach as this will damage the fabric.  When storing we advise to roll or hang, particularly with tablecloths.  If folded, the pressure can weaken the area of the folds, so if this is your storing method, we advise to refold them periodically.

A note on optical
brighteners and ingredients...

Optical brighteners are added to laundry detergents to reduce yellowing.  Optical brighteners do not clean clothes better instead they absorb ultraviolet light and re-emit the blue hues that make greys and yellows disappear.  They work by coating clothes with fluorescent particles that convert ultraviolet light to visible light – without making the clothes any more clean than they would be without them.

When the light is reflected outward, fabrics appear cleaner than they really are. Designed to intentionally remain behind on fabric, these brighteners rub off on skin and wash down drains, often surviving wastewater treatment before they enter the environment.  Optical brighteners also pose a potential hazard to aquatic life as they aren’t readily biodegradable and may bioaccumulate.

We recommend the following washing detergent for your Sirimiri bed, bath and table linens;
